Who are we?
 Katherine
Marks, Director
Katherine has more than 10 years’ experience in international
education, having worked in TAFE, university and high school in
Australia. Katherine has experience both teaching and lecturing
(English as a second language and Japanese) as well as in providing
advice and support services to international students from around
the world. Katherine was responsible for marketing courses and programs
to international students at North Sydney College of TAFE, before
going on to hold the position of Marketing Manager in the International
Office at the University of Sydney. After moving to Melbourne, she
gained experience in the secondary school sector and was employed
by one of Melbourne’s most prestigious schools, Lauriston Girls’
School, as their Marketing Manager.
Katherine has travelled extensively representing the organisations
she has worked for, to countries such as Japan, Korea, Hong Kong,
Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and China. Katherine
has counselled thousands of students from these countries about
their educational needs and goals. As a result of this experience,
Katherine is very familiar with the educational needs and cultural
issues of international students.
Katherine has a Bachelor of Asian Studies from the Australian
National University, a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University
of Sydney and a Masters of Arts degree in Business Japanese from
the University of Sydney. Katherine completed her first degree as
an international student at Showa Women’s University in Tokyo
and has first hand knowledge of what it’s like to study and
work in a foreign country. Katherine undertook a working holiday
in Japan while an undergraduate student and she speaks fluent Japanese.
 David
Greenberg, Director
David has a business degree from Curtin University and a Diploma
in Personnel Consulting from the Institute of Personnel Consultants.
David has more than 13 years’ experience in international education
in Australian private colleges, TAFE and universities.
As Associate Director at Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Melbourne,
David managed all aspects of the International Education Office.
Prior to working at Box Hill, he held the positions of International
Student Program Officer at Deakin University and Victoria College.
David also has considerable experience working for private education
colleges.
David has travelled extensively throughout Nepal, Indonesia, Singapore,
Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, India, Sri
Lanka and Brazil and has gained a thorough understanding of the
needs of international students as a result of counselling and briefing
thousands of prospective international students from these countries.
David also experienced life as an international student overseas
for one year following high school.
